WANNEROO BUSHFIRES

RAWCS has started a new appeal to provide funds for disasters affecting the Australian   community for example the recent Wanneroo bush fires in Northern Perth suburbs.
Our aim is to distribute funds to projects that meet the needs identified in the RARF appeals (calls for funding) and that meet RAWCS project criteria as soon as possible in the aftermath of a disaster. RAWCS works with Rotarians on the ground to see that effective programs which meet the identified needs, are commenced and completed in timeframes that support recovery and build long term resilience.
If your club would like to make a   donation to this appeal, please go to:

Over the past 35 years The Rotary Club of North Perth has organised and run the Hyde Park Festival. This is a family event with activities and entertainment provided to be enjoyed by all age groups. Entry is free to the Park. The festival covers the whole park and runs over the Sunday and the Monday of the Labour Day Weekend.

At our next Festival there has been an area set aside for our Rotary District to display the projects that Rotary does in our district and around the world. The area set aside is between the two lakes and will be signposted as “Discover Rotary”.  The public will be able to see first-hand at what Rotary does in Western Australia and around the world. The Rotary projects on display will be manned by Rotarians throughout the two days of the festival.

The following Rotary Projects will be at the Festival. These are Wheel Chairs for Kids, Rotary WA, Shelter Box, Australian Rotary Health, RAWCS (Includes My Homes), Path of Hope, Rotary WA Youth Projects, Rotary Homeless Projects.

The Festival will be a good opportunity to highlight to the public of what Rotary does.

Our Theatre Night Fundraiser for 2024
is happening soon!

When the biggest highlight in your life for the past 30 years has been your weekly bridge night out with the "girls," what do you do when one of your foursome inconveniently dies? If you're Connie, Leona and Millie, three local ladies, you do the most daring thing you've ever done. You "borrow" the ashes from the funeral home for one last card game, and the wildest, most exciting night of your lives involves a police raid, a stripper and a whole new way of looking at all the fun you can have when you're truly living.

'Exit Laughing' is the Old Mill Theatre's first comedy season for 2024.  Written by Paul Elliott and directed by seasoned local director Dale James, the Rotary Club of Northbridge will be holding one special fundraiser night for club members, friends, family and club friends. Come along and enjoy a local live performance in this historic heritage listed theatre in South Perth on Wednesday 6th March 2024.  Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased through this link, which will take you directly to our RCON page:

The proceeds of this event will benefit charitable causes supported by the Rotary Club of Northbridge in our local area.

Please direct any queries to Joy Northover (0411 424 666)
________________
All proceeds from this ride are donated to support mental health in the Blackwood region. The main beneficiaries are  Blackwood Youth Action and The Bridgetown Greenbushes Suicide Prevention Network

DID YOU KNOW?

Rotary’s Four Roles in Promoting Peace

Rotary and its members are:
  • Practitioners: Our work fighting disease, providing clean water and sanitation, improving the health of mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies directly builds the optimal conditions for peaceful societies.
  • Educators: Our Rotary Peace Centers have trained more than 1,700 peace fellows to become effective catalysts for peace through careers in government, education, and international organizations.
  • Mediators: Our members have negotiated humanitarian ceasefires in areas of conflict to allow polio vaccinators to reach children who are at risk.
  • Advocates: Our members have an integral role as respected, impartial participants during peace processes and in post-conflict reconstruction. We focus on creating communities and convening groups that are connected, inclusive, and resilient.
