Through Karrinyup Rotary, opportunity has knocked for Rotary around WA to be involved in a maternal and newborn child mental health project. We invite Rotarians with relevant vocational skills and child health/health promotion experience (or simply committed to Rotary service in this area), and especially clubs in localities where existing Mother-Baby Nurture groups exist, to participate.
We are working to expedite this project and DGR arrangements before 30 June this year. If you are interested, and for more information, please contact us very soon.
The South-West Region of WA is experiencing severe drought and some of our farmers are having a hard time.
The RAWCS Special Drought Relief - $500 Debit Card Project has $500 debit cards available, that will be offered to local Rotary clubs to provide immediate assistance to drought impacted families within their communities.

Treemission is a Rotary tree planting program that has goals of informing Rotarians about what is happening in the environment, what they can do about it and deliver tree planting activities.
2024 Treemission tree planting event

Exciting times ahead in 2024 for treemission as we move to support restoration work on the Wungong River near Armadale. The State government has provided significant funding to ensure the Wungong River becomes a healthy river corridor for local wildlife, and for us to enjoy into the future.
Treemission has linked again with SERCUL this time to rehabilitate the river course. Matt Barbour, with SERCUL, will lead us for two days in July (20th and 21st) to plant a target of 3,000 plants per day (at least).
Each day starts at 0900hrs with a briefing, then morning tea at 1000hrs and a sausage sizzle at 1230.
Matt will provide planting equipment and plants (but I suggest you bring your favourite gloves and trowel), and Treemission and our Rotarians will cater for morning tea and a sausage sizzle.
You will need to bring personal items such as sunscreen, hats, boots, water and any other items you might think you will need including a chair? There are toilets located nearby at the shopping centre.

Team Rotary Riders 200 Km bike ride to support Harry Perkins Cancer Research has raised $$5,500 so far. All teams combined have raised $1.2 million. Each year, Rotary awards up to 130 fully funded fellowships for dedicated leaders from around the world to study at one of our peace centers.
Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of peace and development professionals to become effective catalysts for peace. The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses.
Since the program began in 2002, the Rotary Peace Centers have trained more than 1,700 fellows who now work in over 140 countries. Many serve as leaders in governments; NGOs; education and research institutions; peacekeeping and law enforcement agencies; and international organizations like the United Nations and the World Bank.
ROMAC is looking for a new Operations Director, who is a very significant, senior member of the team in this successful Multi District Rotary Project. The person must be a member of a Rotary Club in Zone 8.
The ROMAC Operations Director is a member of the ROMAC Board and a director of 2 charities. The Operations Director works with the Medical Director to identify possible ROMAC patients and then, with Regional Chairs and Operations Managers to oversee the approval, management, treatment and rehabilitation of the children.
We are looking for a very organised person with good leadership and project management skills, who is competent with information technologies. The Operations Director needs excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong desire to help others and make a difference in the lives of children and their families.

ROMAC has a current vacancy for a HR, Training and Recruitment Chair. The HR, Training and Recruitment Chair leads a small team of volunteers, is a member of the ROMAC Engagement Committee and the ROMAC Management Committee, and must be a current member of a Rotary Club in Zone 8.
The role reports to the ROMAC Chair and is responsible for human resource management. It is an important role because ROMAC relies totally on volunteers to manage its activities. Their recruitment, induction, onboarding, training and performance management are key to the organisation’s success.
HR and training qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential. Experience in HR Management and adult learning would be an advantage, as well as previous experience leading a multi-tasked team or a Rotary District or Club. Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as information technologies. Must be organised and able to meet deadlines.
